Glen Innes Tourist Drive

This 140 km drive takes you on a loop into our romantic past...

From Glen Innes, Tour Drive 11 takes you on sensational journey visiting the past – pioneers, historic villages which once teemed with miners, fishing, fossicking areas and wild country with stunning rock formations. Emmaville and Torrington were once bustling tin mining towns: all that can be recaptured at the Emmaville Mining Museum whiel relics of mining can be viewed at Tent Hill and Torrington. Weird rock formations, like Mystery Rockface, and Thunderbolt’s Lookout are features of the 30,000ha Torrington State Recreation Area – with streams, waterfalls, rare and beautiful flora. Historic buildings are lovingly preserved at Deepwater, a proud little village where the pastoralists settled in the 1830’s.
