If you are coming from South-East Queensland, northern coastline of NSW or Sydney via the Hunter, there are some quick easy itineraries you can follow to get the most from your New England North West experience.

New England North West Map
New England North West covers a large area of stunning scenery, exciting country towns and beautiful National Parks. With an extensive road system driving is the ulimate way to experience the great open expanses of this wounderful area.

The Border Drive
This 58km drive (sealed from Tenterfield to Bald Rock National Park) visits national parks: Bald Rock, Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo State Forest.

Glen Innes Tourist Drive
This 140 km drive takes you on a loop into our romantic past – pioneers, historic villages once teeming with miners, fishing, fossicking areas and wild country with stunning rock formations.

Uralla & Surrounds
Tourist Drive 19 takes you on an historic trail taking in the Dangarsleigh War Memorial, Dangar’s Falls and Gorge, McCrossin’s Mill Museum and much more as you travel through Uralla and surrounding areas.

Inverall To Warialda
This quiet country drive is a great diversion for the traveler who enjoys getting off the highways for a while. Starting at Warialda through to Inverell.

Narrabri To Inverell
One of the prettiest drives in Big Sky Country, Tourist Drive 3 takes you from the vast plains of the Narrabri district to the edge of New England to Inverell. You will experience the rugged Mt Kaputar National Park and many tourist attractions.

Opal Drive
The perfect drive to experience the best of Australia’s landscape, flora and fauna. Often referred to as the Opal Connection, the road between Narrabri and Lightning Ridge takes you to the edge of the outback in a little under three hours.

The Fossickers Way
An alternative route between Sydney and Brisbane, the Fossickers Way is a quiet, leisurely scenic drive providing fully sealed roads for easy driving. It is an exciting and different drive which takes you through one of the richest gem areas in Australia.

The Kamilaroi Highway
This 600km journey begins just across the Great Dividing Range at Willow Tree before following the course of the Namoi River as it makes its way toward the Darling River then onto Bourke, travelling through many attractive towns.

The New England Highway
This alternative route between Sydney and Brisbane is where you’ll find fantastic scenery and friendly places to visit along the way, passing through many beautiful towns each with a unique story to tell from bushrangers to fossickers.

Waterfall Way Scenic Drive
The 191 kilometre Waterfall Way scenic drive begins in Coffs Harbour and commences in Armidale. This spectacular drive has been voted the third most scenic in Australia and encompasses several national parks, waterfalls and quirky townships.
