Tourism New England North West is launching a new bid to attract more visitors to Australia's three largest caravan and camping shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The Sydney show was opened at Rosehill on the 17th April 2009 weekend. Tourism New England North West's chief executive, Stuart Allardice, says while the economic downturn has led to a drop in Australians flying overseas, it is not stopping them visiting local attractions.
"Traditionally, the major group is the 55-plus couples and they're the bread and butter of the caravanning & camping industry," he said. "The second group is the families that come out on school holidays. The group we're trying to reach is the younger market and trying to influence them."
